The sun will come out..tomorrow

This blog post was going to be about the fun we are having with the warmer weather..but things have a way of changing. The fun photos are coming..but today we spend 5 hours at the emergency veterinarian with Dana. She woke with a swollen leg and stopped eating. X-rays showed no bone involvement (whew) and blood work didn't hint at an infection. She had lost 3 pounds in 6 days. The vet said 'I dont' know what it is but I don't like it' ..neither do we. So now, we are treating her with antibiotics for 24-48 hours. If it isnt' better in that time, we will assume cancer and proceed from there. Fingers crossed tomorrow is a better day.

But yesterday..was a better day and I took a lot of photos with my new 7D. (and I sold my Rebel XTi..yeah for Craigslist). I am still getting used to the insane amount of buttons and learning how to change settings..so some photos need some work.



This was 5 days ago..obviously Dana's elbow was not a grapefruit then.
As she lays on her bed drooling and see pink butterflies (morphine)..I hope she is dreaming of playing again.

Rolling on..

It is no secret that I have been wanting a new camera. Sadly, I have priced myself out of Santa's budget and with our upcoming big vacation (ITALY IN 6 WEEKS!!!)..it was time. It was almost three years ago to the day that I started my journey with SLRs and I have really enjoyed being an amateur photographer. Now..it is time..for the ultimate upgrade..the pinnacle of what I will ever want...the Canon EOS 7D
I am very excited..it should be here soon. AND I am not the only person who has purchased this camera among our blogger friends
This also means that I can no longer blame poor photograph quality on my camera..the fault will fall on the user and her left brain bias.

We did go to a Roller Derby recently..it was fun and i can now mark it off my list of things I would like to do. It was entertaining.




I would try to explain the rules, but honestly i didn't get it until I saw it.
And finally, Cali turned 8 this past week!! She is our 'youngster' and a great addition to our pack. Happy Birthday, Cali!!!!! (some of my favorite photos of her )


Farewell, Canon Rebel XTi..you have served me well. hopefully I can find a new home to appreciate your abilities.

Spring has sprung

Spring is coming!We are excited.We went to the Pet Expo and Cali was..well Cali.We watched Rainy while her family went on vacation. She is doing so well. Henry has ETSWe always tell people that greyhounds have thin skin..just a reminder...We have a new foster, Snoop (TS Snoop Dog). He was returned to us yesterday and he 10 years old. he is very sweet and has a new home waiting for him. We will just hang on to him until the weekend. Henry and Snoop raced at the same track on the same day in 2003..the old boys converse a bit.He is handsome
