Warm and Cozy
We are in the throws of 'Virginia winter' which means cold, windy, rainy weather...but rarely snow. So we all have quality pjs in front of the fire time.
Cody loves it and thinks the fireplace is the best thing ever.
He does have the best seat in the house..
Roxi on the other hand has an odd fascination with the fireplace. She has the coat of a bear and loves to be outside. But she will sit and stare at the fire for a while..(this angle always reminds me of Shiloh)
Occasionally, she will break her stare..
But she just likes watching the flames...

Those stares into the fire are so endearing! I think that the coziness must be a time of relaxing and bonding. The greyhound in the sleep mode reminds me of my house in Texas, which had a fireplace. When the fireplace was on, the cuddling stopped!
Cody is obviously snug as a bug.
When I was a kid, my parents had a dog that would sit right in front of a coal fire. We had to make sure the guard was up, otherwise she would sit in the hearth. More than once you could smell her getting a bit too hot.
